Project Assignment
The island of Mamula has a rich history spanning centuries. This UNESCO World Heritage site in the Adriatic Sea features a carefully restored 19th-century fortress. Surrounded by sea and sky, with far-reaching views and a wild landscape, the hotel has 32 rooms, a spa, a beach, 3 pools, 3 restaurants, and 4 bars. As a unique hotel for lovers of life, nature, and experiences, everything here is designed to provide time for relaxation, activity, creativity, sharing, and dancing.
Challenges
To develop a water desalination system that can meet the high standards of the resort. The system must convert seawater into high-quality drinking water and utilize the existing 250m³ water reservoir infrastructure, ensuring the availability of drinking water 24/7.
Solutions
The plant consists of two compact SWRO units, each with a capacity of 20m³/day, totaling 40m³/day. The plant can operate in parallel, producing 40m³/day of drinking water, or individually, depending on consumer needs. Both desalination units are 3MCOMPACT models, meaning they are housed in standard-sized containers, making them easier to transport and install in challenging locations such as the island of Mamula.
Results
The plant produces 40,000 liters of drinking water per day for the needs of the Mamula resort.
